July 20-21, the best helicopter crews will rise to the sky of Tver region. The second stage of Helicopter world cup will take place here. The competition is held under control of CIG FAI. The chief judge is a judge of international category Lothar Oehler, Germany.
The first stage of the competition was held in England. Now Russia takes the baton. The competition will take place at Konakovo airfield, equipped with the latest international standards. 25 crews (13 heliduos in class "Masters" and 12 in class "General") from Poland, Czech Republic, Belorussia, Ukraine and Russia will fight for the Cup. There are two disciplines in heliraces: Fender rigging and Slalom.
In parallel with the Helicopter World Cup, the 54-th open championship of Russia will take place. Besides Russian crews the pilots from Poland and Czech Republic will also participate in this competition. Our country will be represented by crews from Moscow, Moscow region, Samara, Novosibirsk, Saratov and Tver regions, from CSKA, "Aerospace of Russia" and DOSAAF.
Irina Grushina, the president of Federation of Helicopter sport of Russia sais: "The Federation of Helicopter sport of Russia and the International Academy of Helicopter sport are ready to hold the international competition at the highest level and to welcome our foreign colleagues. This year all the fans of helicopter sport will be able to watch the live broadcast of competition on YouTube channel of our media partner FlightTV.
There is another good news. Last year we celebrated the 60 years of Helicopter sport. And this year we commemorate 10 years of partnership with "Russian Helicopters". During these years our partnership has grown into real friendship. We are united by our love to helicopters and by respect for the victories of our colleagues, helicopter pilots in the international arena. We hope to continue our stable productive partnership.
